Random Thoughts: Children and what they are facing today…

We shouldn’t be having kids-young people facing being bullied because they are different and they commit suicide ( too many countless stories to Google to showcase). Or kids being mistreated by assholes because they fit a negative stereotypes and don’t belong in such and such neighborhood. ALL OF OUR KIDS SHOULD MATTER!! When will people stand up for children!! SMDH

I know I am posting another Marvin Gaye song but it is relevent to this post of my Random Thoughts.

Happy Birthday Marvin Pentz Gaye

I didn’t want to celebrate April 1st of when he died because it still leaves me sad on how his life ended. So I am celebrating what he brought to the earth in his 44 years he existed!! Normally for my beloved tv special Motown 25 I show the MJ segment (aka “MY ISH”).  But this was also a memorable segment as well. Sad to know this was his LAST tv performance…

Marvin Gaye would have been 70 on Apr 2

I sadly remember the day being on a Sun (April 1, 1984) and I was 9 yrs old and I came out of a buffet restaurant with relatives after church and we heard the news on the radio station at the time of him being killed.  It was & still is baffling and disturbing to me as a kid to know of a parent to have soo much hatred to want to kill their own damn child.  A few years later I read “Divided Soul” by David Ritz  and got a better understanding of what Marvin was going thru.  As a matter of fact I read the bio several times.  A few years ago I also read the book his brother Frankie wrote (before his own death of a heart attack in 2001).

It is sad to me that it took his mom seeing her own son shot to divorce that bastard.  That bastard ended up being sent off to an older folks home and live up thru the late 90′s if I am not mistaken.

I really didn’t get into Marvin as a kid until that Midnight Love album with my 2 favorite songs being Midnight Lady and Turn on Some Music!!  Then after that I got into the stuff prior to Midnight Love.

This is my ultimate favorite song from Midnight Love (1 of 2 alternative versions of Turn on The Music):

God Bless the Dead!!
